The time he was with WWF included a fabled match against Hulk Hogan, who, even after being attacked with a steel pipe from Roddy, won the match.

In a highly controversial appearance in the HBO show “Real Sports ” with Bryant Gumbel,” Piper admitted that he took drugs to stay in the Ring during his professional career. He also said that most professional wrestlers did the same thing so that they could keep competing, considering the injuries they suffered and the pain they felt. This led to Roddy being dismissed by Worldwide Wrestling Entertainment. The TAW (Total Action Wrestling) group, which was comprised of NWA stars, picked Roddy in 2003, despite the controversy. The move proved to be a win for both Piper and the TAW. Vince McMahon could not ignore Roddy’s rise in popularity and shortly returned him to the massive and ever-growing Worldwide custom boxing belts Entertainment.
