SWIMMING POOLWHAT EQUIPMENT TO INSTALL A SWIMMING POOL?

Among the many pool equipment and accessories, some are essential while others are optional. The former ensures its basic operation, the latter provides additional features for more comfort of use and easier maintenance.

The essential elements for the operation of a swimming pool

The technical room

For this, no need for an oversized location. When possible, you can, for example, arrange it under the swimming pool deck. Conversely, it should not be too small. Allow a minimum of space inside to carry out maintenance without taking the risk of damaging your back!

The technical room is the nerve center of your swimming pool. This is where the main parts of the structure are located. When you carry out your swimming pool construction project, it is imperative to determine the location of this room.

However, if you have the possibility, you can of course provide a room on one level, in which case it will be necessary to take into account the pressure drops. This involves sizing the various swimming pool equipment accordingly.

The pump

The pump is the heart of thewimming pool, its role is to ensure circulation in the hydraulic circuit, essential for the health of the bathing water. To choose it well, make sure it is properly sized.

The filter

In the hydraulic circuit connected to the pool, the pool filtration is placed after the pump. In other words, the water is sucked up by the pump and then passes through the filter which retains the impurities.

The electrical panel

The electrical panel supplies the pump and other devices that need to be connected to the mains in order to operate. This is the case of an electrolyzer or a heat pump.

The pipes

The pipes are responsible for transporting the water via a hydraulic circuit connecting the various equipment and the basin. They also connect this circuit to the house spreading network or the public wastewater network, depending on the evacuation system chosen.

Skimmers

Skimmers, also called skimmers or Poolking pool water collectors, are key parts of the hydraulic circuit. They are positioned on the end of tubes connected to the suction of the pump, responsible for recovering the water from the pool.

They have an opening, called a loophole, placed on the waterline of the basin and a body connected to the surface via a hatch. They can have a small or large loophole, to be chosen according to the volume of water in the pool. Depending on the model, the skimmers have a pre-filter and a container for depositing pool water disinfectant pebbles.

Thus, the skimmers not only ensure the suction of water but also constitute a complement for its filtration and disinfection. Note that the choice of skimmers is essential in this sense. For optimal operation of your pool, opt for a model equipped with a pre-filter and disinfectant tank. For more aesthetics, some models offer finishes in brushed aluminum or other elegant materials.

The discharge nozzles

Unlike skimmers, return nozzles are responsible for injecting water into the pool. At this stage, the discharged water is clean. Indeed, it crossed the filter responsible for retaining all the dirt. There are nozzles of different diameters, to be adapted according to the water flow of the pump. They can also be adapted to a higher pressure outlet if the pool has a booster.

The basin bottom drain

The basin bottom drain is the part allowing the basin to be emptied. It is connected to a pipe generally leading to the rainwater network. To drain the basin, place the multiway valve in the “emptying” position and open the sewer valve.

Note that emptying must be done under certain conditions. To do this, you must refer to the regulations of the municipality and contact the local services concerned.

The broom socket

The purpose of the broom socket is to connect a vacuum broom or a robot cleaner, hence its name. This is a push-in fitting where the hose from the cleaning device is connected. To make it work, you have to open the dedicated valve and close the one connected to the skimmers.

Note that the pipe must be free of air and filled with water otherwise the pump will fail. You can, for this, position the pipe beforehand on a discharge nozzle until all the air is expelled (as soon as there are no more bubbles coming out).
