Manga is a visual novel that’s been around for more than a century. It’s a genre that’s exploded in popularity in the last few generations, largely because we now have smartphones and tablets that can read and see digital japanese comics as easily as we can type. Nowadays, almost everyone is familiar with the titular characters from hit manga series such as “Fruits Basket”, “Kingdom of the Dead”, and “Attack on Titan”. But what about person who isn’t a fan of the manga? What are the benefits of using it as your medium of choice? How can you learn more about it? For some person, it’s a new medium for the first time. For others, it’s an old one that they’ve been looking forward to getting their hands on for a while. And for others, it’s a new and different take on the traditional japanese comics they’ve always been exposed to. The Manga List aims to answer these questions and more with a selection of recommendations on what every man, woman, and child should know about manga books.
What is Manga?
Manga is a type of Western visual novel that was popular in the late 20th through early 21st century. It was developed and published by an American company, Kingo, and is based on the Japanese light novel series “Fruits Basket”, “Kingdom of the Dead”, and “Attack on Titan”. Anime series and manga books are different types of graphic novels, although they share many similarities. Both sport a typically Shōen-ai (heroes journey) style of storytelling, with a mix of graphic novels and live-action segments. Both are Rape, harassment, and theft stories, often with a heavy Tina Fey or Michael Cohan voice role. Both tell a story of romance and loss, with occasional references to pop culture, including pop culture icons.
Manga Provides a New Look at Writing
The first reason why you should read a manga is that it provides a different look at writing, one that’s often more personal and emotional than what you might’ve encountered in your conventional texts. When we write a novel, we often start with a story idea, research the historical, cultural, and commercial aspects of the time period we’re writing about, and then we use that information to develop the characters, places, and events that make up the novel. However, while researching and writing the historical section of a novel, you may come across pictures and events that are more interesting to write about.
Why Should You Read Manga?
Many people think of manga as being for kids, but that’s not the case at all. There are tons of adult stories in the manga, and many of them are very touching and/or heart-rending. Manga can be a very serious text, but it also has a very light-hearted side. It’s a great way to get a sense of how the author feels, and it can help you identify where you’re going with your story.
What Does a Manga List Include?
Artwork – The art that makes up the majority of your manga should be something you’ve always wanted to do. If you’ve always wanted to draw human figures, for example, Mortal Kombat character designs are very much worth looking at. Lyrics – Lyrics are another thing you should look into when you’re starting as a writer. You probably have a ton of older school or high school friends who have been in love with MCs or dealing with depression or anxiety, and you can get a better understanding of what it’s like to feel that way if you read their poetry. Spirits – Not only are there lots of happy, dark, and happy-ish stories in the manga, but also lots and lots of spirituals. Why not give your own special kind of blessing to your reader through your reading?
Manga’s Role in Culture
One of the things that really sets manga apart from other visual novels is its role in culture. Not only is it a classic example of the “cultural thing” that we talked about above, but it’s also a classic example of how a single visual novel can change the way people think about the medium. The manga was published in Japan from 1894-to 2006 and it has a long and rich cultural legacy. There are many different cultures that consume and read books in much the same way as in Japan—so, you might find that in a local bookstore, there’s a massive collection of English-dubbed manga in Japanese. If you think about it, though, it doesn’t seem that far removed from your everyday reading. You know, like, reading the daily newspaper or TV news. Or, you know, reading a selection from your local bookstore or the library. What’s more, the choice of books and the readability of the stories are almost identical. So, why wouldn’t you like to try your hand at reading a few of these classic titles?
What to Expect from the Manga List
The first thing that you’ll notice about the “Manga List” is that it’s very organized. There are lots of rules and limitations on what you can and can’t do, but it’s designed to help a person get a general idea of what to expect. Like everything on the “Manga List”, your reading will be very personal, and you’ll want to make sure that what you read feels good to you. This will most likely depend on your reading speed, but you should generally be able to tell when you’re reading a story that you like.
How to Read a Manga List
Like anything, you need to start slow. As you get more comfortable with the format and the readability of your manga, you’re going to want to read more and more. You don’t need to read every page in an hour, but you should be able to pick up reading a fast while you have the time. You also need to find a great manga site with variety of genres that doesn’t force you to subscribe like mangaowl, mangakakalot, mangafreak, readinmanga, and mangago. Lastly don’t need to read every word in one sitting. You can usually pick up reading a few pages at a time while you have the energy and motivation to read.
Summing up
Reading is a wonderful thing. It makes us much better people, it gives us insight into other people’s lives and allows us to learn about ourselves too. But when it comes to reading a manga, there are a few things you might want to keep in mind first. First, it’s important to get used to reading in your own language. Make sure you’re comfortable with reading in your language and that you understand what’s being said. And last, but not least, it’s important to understand the cultural context of your reading. When you’re reading in your own language, you might be reading a story that tells a romantic story, but in your own language, it might be a dating game story. So, pick up a book and try it out. You might find that there’s something in there that you like, or you might not. Whatever it is, don’t be afraid to try something.
