Many companies in the LED display industry are opting for front access for their displays. The reasons vary depending on the specific needs regarding the structure, location, and installation conditions, among other aspects. But, what are those important aspects which are decisive when choosing the right type of access?

What should we take into account when deciding on front access in particular?

Front Open Lid or Front Open Lid:

There is no doubt that the “front open lid” type screen offers a good front service for fixed screens. However, there are certain restrictions that do not allow its operation, such as: when the height of the screen exceeds 2 meters, or when it is not possible to obtain a space for the maintenance of the screen in the back greater than 80 cm.

In the particular case that the screen is greater than 2 meters, it would be very difficult to design the type of front open cover because, being this the one that supports the structure of the “lid”, it could not support its weight. On the other hand, if the screen is installed on a wall, for example, the best option is undoubtedly a frontal installation due to the limited space that will exist between the wall and the cabinet.

The special modules for direct access to this type of LED screen are articulated to the cabinet. It can be released by unlocking two locks found on the inside of the modules using the special T-type key to open. The use of this type of installation can become very simple for the maintenance process.


LED display maintenance methods are mainly divided into front maintenance LED display and rear maintenance LED display Post maintenance LED displays are widely used in large-scale LED displays on the exterior walls of buildings and should be designed with maintenance channels to make it easy for maintenance personnel to perform maintenance and repair from the rear of the display body. 

The general technical requirements are high, the installation is cumbersome and time-consuming. Obviously, this is not a suitable option for compact indoor applications with large spaces and gold or inlaid and wall-mounted installations.

With the rise of small pitch LED displays, indoor front maintenance LED display products gradually occupy a dominant position in the market. It refers to the use of magnetic adsorption between the magnetic components and the LED display box to fix it. 

During operation, the suction cup directly contacts the surface of the box for front maintenance, thus removing the LED display module structure from its box to achieve front maintenance of the display body. This front maintenance method can make the overall structure of the display screen thin and light, and integrate with the surrounding architectural environment, highlighting the ability of visual expression indoors.

Compared with the rear maintenance LED display, the advantage of the front maintenance LED display is mainly to save space, make greater use of environmental space, and reduce the difficulty of subsequent maintenance work. The front maintenance method does not need to reserve a maintenance channel, supports independent front maintenance, and saves maintenance space at the back of the screen. 

There is no need to disassemble the cable, it supports quick maintenance work, and the disassembly is simpler and more convenient. Front Maintenance LED Display Compare rear maintenance LED display The structure of the module to be disassembled, in the event of a single point of failure, only one person needs to disassemble and maintain a single-pixel or LED display, and the maintenance efficiency is high and the cost is low, however, due to the high-density characteristics indoors, the product structure has higher requirements on the heat dissipation of the cabinet; otherwise, the display screen is prone to local failure.

In comparison, the rear service LED display is not worth any. Its cost is slightly lower, suitable for ceilings, columns, and other installation scenarios, and the efficiency of inspection and maintenance is high. Because of the different usage scenarios, you can choose between these two maintenance methods to suit your actual needs.
