Powering up and evolving Pokemon in Pokemon GO is a core mechanic intended to improve your Pokemon’s battle potential. To do so, you’ll need two resources: Stardust and Pokemon Candy.

Stardust costs a certain amount to Power Up or evolve your Pokemon and increases each time you reach a new ‘level’ of power-up. It’s important to use tactful strategy and only spend your precious Stardust on evolved Pokemon that you truly believe have the potential to shine in battle.

Powering up before evolving

Pokemon go evolve calculator is designed to boost a Pokemon’s combat prowess while also unlocking new Pokedex entries. However, considering both are resource-driven, with powering up requiring Stardust and evolution typically needing a significant amount of candies, it may not be clear when to enact these mechanics for a given Pokemon.

The answer to this question depends on whether you’re looking to evolve a particular Pokemon in the first place or if you’re only concerned with getting it powerful enough to take on a few tough gyms or raids. In either case, evolving is a great way to raise your Trainer Level, which will allow you to catch stronger Pokemon from wild sources and increase the chances of encountering rare breeds.

In many cases, evolving will also grant a Pokemon a number of new moves. Often, these are the kinds of moves that aren’t suitable for your current Pokemon – so it makes sense to wait until you have ideal movesets before spending any Stardust on evolutions.

Powering up after evolving

The question of whether or not to power up your Pokemon before evolving is one that lingers in the minds of trainers around the world. There is no right or wrong answer to this question, as it depends entirely on your individual playing style and preferences.

To start, it’s important to understand that powering up your Pokemon consumes increasing amounts of stardust and a small amount of candy. It will also increase your Pokemon’s CP with a percentage of its max CP tier, as well as increasing its HP.

However, if you’re looking for the best way to power up your Pokemon, evolve it first before you start powering up. This will ensure that you get the most out of your money and resources, while avoiding any overshooting on the CP cap for whatever league you’re in.

Using the power up mechanic can be a daunting task, especially when you’re new to Pokemon Go and don’t know what the right choice is. But with a little bit of patience and research, you’ll be able to power up your Pokemon without breaking the bank.

Powering up for Master League

The Master League allows any Pokemon to participate, regardless of their CP. Trainers tend to favour high maximum CP Pokemon for this league, but some Pokemon that aren’t popular choices for Raid Battles can be powerful competitors in this metagame. Altered Forme Giratina and Dialga are two such examples.

Lugia is an incredible choice for this metagame as it has one of the best stat numbers in the game, along with a huge amount of raw strength. Its ability to absorb nukes makes it a force to be reckoned with against large threats like Groudon and Palkia, while Aeroblast is a devastating attack that can even damage Legendary Pokémon.

Metagross is another strong choice for this metagame as its Steel typing makes it resistant to many of the most common attacks, including Dragon and Fairy. Its diverse move pool also means it has a lot to offer in the way of damage and energy gain. Its Fast Moves, in particular Bullet Punch, are a great option for Master League – giving Metagross the chance to hit harder while still gaining energy quickly.
